Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada headquarters of the IRGC Ground Force identified the serviceman as Sergeant First Class Amir-Hossein Salehian, saying in a statement that Salehian embraced martyrdom during a mission in Chaldoran’s Yusefabad area, the IRNA reported late on Tuesday.
It condemned the act of terror and offered sympathy to the family of the martyr and the honorable people of Iran.
Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada also pledged to take harsh revenge against the perpetrators of the incident, saying such blind acts of terror will not hinder the forward movement of the Islamic Revolution and will bring about greater unity in the country.
Meanwhile, the burial ceremony of the martyr was expected to be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Chaldaran.
